River Gallery

Located in Damariscotta, Maine since 1995, River Gallery presents a diverse collection of American and European paintings from the 19th century to the present day.  Areas of interest include modernist landscape paintings of Maine, paintings from the artists of Monhegan Island, and American expatriate painting in Venice.  The gallery also displays work from select contemporary painters with a connection to coastal Maine.

Visiting the Gallery

Located at 79 Main Street in Damariscotta, the gallery is open from 11am to 4pm Tuesday through Saturday, from June to September, and by chance or by appointment during the rest of the year.

Please note that Google Maps and some other navigation systems get our address wrong.  The gallery is located downtown, on the southern (“river”) side of Main Street, in the large brick building two blocks east of the bridge.
